The Mail Box Butler is a flag which is activated when mail is delivered into your rural mail box. The beauty is that no special springs or power source is needed. The arm of the flag indicator is drawn from its resting place in a saddle bracket and drops into a vertical display position when the door of the mail box is opened by the mail delivery person. When the mail is retrieved you simply place the arm back into the saddle. This device is a unique design and its use allows for clear notification of mail having been delivered into your mail box. This was designed for the elderly and or the handicapped, but has many benefits useful for any user. This adds convenience and safety as your trips to an empty receptacle are eliminated. It also indicates if someone else has retrieved the mail before your arrival home. It prevents trips out in unsafe inclement weather, or crossing or stopping in a busy highway to retrieve mail only to find an empty box. It may reduce the time important mail such as checks remain exposed to being stollen. It reduces the angst of wondering if important mail has arrived yet, as you have a clear visual indication of when mail has been deposited. Visual after dark with reflective material. Can add a blinking LED and small power source for after dark indication, and it can have a remote radio frequency switch added which notifies a security system that mail has been delivered, or even if your box has been accessed illegally. Sending a text to your cell phone is also a possibility. Another benefit is that if you have a neighbor retrieving your mail while you are on vacation, it gives them indication of delivery. Adds convenience.
