With the scarcity of energy resources providing electricity we will need more renewable sources like solar energy to meet worlds energy needs. Though solar panels are already being used for electricity generation but the solar power along with the thermoelectric materials converting wasted heat into electricity can definitely provide a long term solution not only for energy but also for reducing the hazards to the environment. Oxides as compared to its toxic counter parts are not only abundant, non toxic in nature, most importantly cost -effective but have also shown high thermoelectric figure of merit (ZT) in recent times. The objective of this idea is to carry out experiments in solar-based thermoelectricity, in particular to implement the concept of a hybrid system using thermosyphons and nanostructured transition metal doped (Nb or La) STO (oxide thermoelectric material). This research will not only focus on the problem of energy generation but will also take into account to provide electricity to all the classes of people and also give the green solution to the environment by reducing the hazards caused by factories and automobiles. This idea will be a long term solution for energy issues using nanotechnology and giving us a better environment to live. The schematic in the attached image shows the idea in brief.
