So what if we could make a new type of Computer design. basically we already have Solid state drives and with a page file or virtual memory allocation. Could we not run all memory functions via this path. The Sata III interface could handle the Data stream. This way we could get rid of Sdram altogether. Maybe we could partition the SSD in a way that a portion of it could function as memory and the majority would be storage. Maybe the SSD could be designed with a new type of OS that was capable of discerning between the partitions. I mean if were ever going to develop a rudimentary artificial intelligence.... this direction would be the next step. Just a thought.
